Hopper was the second Tiger to hear his named called tonight. The Packers’ NFC North rival Detroit Lions selected Rakestraw in the 2nd Round (61st overall).
That makes three Missouri players selected in the first three rounds of this year’s NFL Draft. The last time that happened? 2009. (Jeremy Maclin and Ziggy Hood in the 1st, William Moore in the 2nd, and Chase Coffman in the 3rd).
Hopper spent two seasons at Missouri after transferring from Florida. In his final season at Mizzou in 10 games played last year, Hopper had 36 solo tackles with 33 total tackles and three pass deflections. Hopper was also named to Second-Team All-SEC by the Coaches and was a finalist for the Butkus Award (Info per MUTigers.com).
Following Mizzou’s 30-27 win over Kansas State, Hopper was named to the Reese’s Senior Bowl Defensive Player of the Week.
