The House Settlement has come and gone. Amateurism is dead. NIL is the name of the game. And yet it all comes back to one thing, time and again: ‘Crootin.
Recruiting is the secret sauce that keeps all of college sports moving, specifically in the major sports of football and men’s basketball. Better recruiting means better talent. Better talent means better results. Better results means better revenues. Better revenues means better recruiting. And so on.
Mizzou has been blessed with so elite recruiters over the years, and there’s an argument that none have been better at it than a few of the coaches currently in place at the athletic department. And while it’s difficult to compare across sports, we’re going to ask anyway: Who is the best recruiter at Mizzou? Is it Eli Drinkwitz, who has seemingly elevated Mizzou to new heights in the football ‘crootin game? Is it Dennis Gates, who has Mizzou making moves for high level guys every class? Is it Brian Smith, who has built a powerhouse program on elite talent identification and development? Or is it someone I’m callously leaving out? Let us know!
