With Central Michigan looming, the Tigers wrap up fall camp this week

Coach Eli Drinkwitz and select offensive players were available to the media earlier today to give some quick updates on the state of the team.

Drinkwitz updated some injury reports to start. Freshman defensive end Ky Montgomery suffered a torn ACL earlier this week and will redshirt this season. Starting running back Tyler Badie was held out of today’s practice for precautionary purposes after a collision left him shaken last week.

The Chance Luper hype train chugged on, as Drinkwitz formally stated that he has had the best fall camp out of any wide receiver. Redshirt senior Barrett Banister agreed, explaining “I’m very proud of how far Chance has come; he’s taken huge steps between years one and two.”

Speaking of Banister, the lengthy career of the veteran was emphasized as he revealed that he hosted tight end Niko Hea (who sat to his right) on his recruiting visit, who is of course now a junior himself.

Tight end Daniel Parker Jr. explained that he feels lightyears better physically after a rough 2020 campaign saw him sidelined with a concussion at times. Parker stated that he has shed pounds and added lean muscle for the upcoming season.

D’ionte “Boo” Smith spoke to the media and detailed the up and down journey he has had since arriving at Missouri. After beginning at Midamerica Nazarene University, Smith opted for the JUCO route at Coffeyville Community College. Smith emphasized that going through the hardships of JUCO makes him so much more thankful to be where he is now. To keep himself motivated, Smith explained that he would always write down all of his future goals, from just getting on the field to earning a scholarship.
