This is Missouri’s 20th commitment of the 2021 class.
Sometimes when recruits finally end their arduous commitment process, they do it with flair. They wait until peak internet streaming times. They produce an over-the-top video. They recruit all of their friends and family to join them for a livestream.
Clearly, most or all of this didn’t appeal to Realus George, who became the 20th member of Mizzou’s 2021 recruiting class late on Friday night.

9:30 pm is a heck of a time to drop the news that you’re choosing a college to play for, but hey my guy, you do you. You’ve definitely got this time to yourself!
George is an interesting case. Originally a member of the 2018 class, George committed to the University of Miami-Florida as, and this is according to Rivals, the number one fullback in the country. George didn’t last long with the Canes, however, and transferred to Independence Community College, where he apparently transitioned to the defensive line. Mizzou was his first Power Five offer in this second recruiting go-around, and George didn’t hesitate to jump at the offer, flipping his commitment from Old Dominion.
Get to know: Realus George
Hometown: Atlanta, Ga.
Last School: Independence Community College
Ht/Wt: 6’2”, 295 lbs
Rivals Ranking: 5.4, 2-stars
247Composite Ranking: .8006, 3-stars
Total announced offers: 7
Take these highlights with a grain of salt as George was recruited to Miami as a fullback and appears to be playing lots of MLB in these highlights. Missouri is recruiting him as a Defensive Tackle, and it’s pretty clear what they’re hoping for — that George will be able to use his relative quickness to get to the QB. He’s a lot smaller than some of Mizzou’s recent interior linemen, but he’s clearly got some extra boost — and extra extra nasty — that comes from his days as a fullback. Hopefully Realus can come to Columbia, put on a few more pounds and turn into a wrecking ball on the interior line.
