The former four-star recruit will have three years of eligibility left.
On Sunday morning, Mizzou basketball scored a commitment from former Arizona State big man Shawn Phillips jr.
Even so, the net gain of bigs for the Tigers was still zero by lunchtime. Not too long after Phillips’ commitment was announced, Mizzou big man Peyton Marshall entered the transfer portal, per his social media. He’ll have three years of eligibility remaining.

The departure marks the third Tiger to enter the portal; Aidan Shaw eventually committed to Boston College, while fellow freshman Marcus Allen is still looking for a new home.
Marshall appeared in 22 games last season, averaging just over 4.3 minutes per game. His biggest single-game contribution came against California on Dec. 3, when three baskets helped the Tigers to a 98-93 win.
The former four-star recruit out of Atlanta came to Mizzou as a highly-touted prospect. He flashed serious potential on Overtime Elite during his senior season of high school; however, that potential will likely be realized somewhere else other than Columbia.
