Mizzou looks to breakthrough for their first SEC win of the season. To do so, they’ll have to beat an elite Georgia team this weekend at home.
With three SEC series remaining in the regular season, the Missouri Tigers are still looking for their first conference win.
After what is now an eight-game losing streak, Mizzou is back home at Taylor Stadium for a three-game weekend series to host a loaded Georgia Bulldogs team, who come in at No. 9 in the latest D1 Baseball Top 25 poll.
In their midweek games on Tuesday night, Georgia is coming off an 9-2 win over Kennesaw State. Mizzou, meanwhile, is coming off a 9-3 loss against …. that school to the west in Lawrence.
#Mizzou Baseball dropped its first of two games against kU in the next week and a half, falling 9-3 in Lawrence. My recap for @RockMNation:https://t.co/P88tjcIbml

Georgia was picked to finish 6th in the SEC Baseball Preseason Poll and the Bulldogs have met those expectations so far this season with a 35-11 overall record and a 12-9 league mark, currently putting them in the mix for a Top 8 national seed in the NCAA Tournament.
OF Tre Phelps (First Team), RP Alton Davis II (First Team), and 3B Slate Alford (Second Team) were named to the preseason all-conference teams.
Coming into this series, the Bulldogs won five out of their first seven SEC series and recently took two out of three against Oklahoma last weekend in Athens.

Series Expectation (Mizzou Gets Swept):
At this point, Mizzou Baseball’s goal the rest of the way is to just get one SEC win, and their best chance to get that might be the final series of the season against Mississippi State at home — as the Bulldogs just recently fired their head coach Chris Lemonis.
These Georgia Bulldogs, however, are just too talented and will be too much for a depleted Mizzou team to handle.
