Missouri vs Vanderbilt football GameDay: info, where to watch, predictions, odds

Think we can win this one?

After a week off, Missouri returns to the football field to take on the Vanderbilt Commodores. Vandy is truly a bad football team. Missouri is truly a bad football team of late.

This isn’t quite the UConn-Vandy level of interest for College Football sickos, but it’s probably the SEC version. Missouri has been on a downward trajectory this season since they failed to win at Kentucky. It feels like each successive game has gotten worse for the defense, and the offense also has struggled and become seemingly less efficient by the day.

But Vanderbilt provides a nice opportunity to change all of that. So let’s do the thing!

Missouri-Vanderbilt football: Betting odds, predictions

As of Friday evening, Missouri is a 16.5-point favorite over Vanderbilt according to DraftKing’s Sportsbook. The total points (over/under) is 62.5.

Kortay Vincent: Missouri hasn’t covered since they played Vanderbilt last year. Mizzou is pretty much automatic when it comes to not covering the spread. If not covering the spread was a sport we’d be the best team in the country at it. With that being said, scared money don’t make money, TIGERS -16. I’ll go with a 48-31 victory for Mizzou.

Karen Steger: Mizzou wins by a score of 32-18, and will once again not cover the spread. The Tigers will get big games from Connor Bazelak, who’s used the bye week as a resurgence of sorts and will become immune to throwing interceptions (one can hope), and Tyler Badie, because we can always count on him and he’s fueled by the awesomeness of Crumbl cookies.

Addendum: No, I clearly didn’t figure out HOW Vandy could get 18 points. I decided the Tigers would score 32 and win by 14 and did not consider how that could occur ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Sammy Stava: This one won’t exactly be pretty. Vanderbilt will put some points on the board. For a team with one of the worst run defenses in the country and hasn’t covered a spread all season, I still can’t pick them to do so now.

Tom Stephenson (Anchor of Gold): Hoo, boy. I hate picking against my team in this game, because Missouri has serious issues. I think the 16-point spread is ridiculous but I’m not confident enough in Vandy’s offense to pick them to actually win this game, so I will say Missouri wins 28-24.
