Missouri vs Boston College football GameDay: info, where to watch, predictions

September 14, 2024 by Rock M Nation

NCAA Football: Louisiana State at Missouri
Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Everything you need for Week 3 of College Football Saturday.

A year ago in week three the Missouri Tigers welcomed in a top 24 opponent, then #15 ranked Kansas State, and watched Harrison Mevis kick a record field goal to walk off the field in an upset victory. That win woud spark a 5-0 start and an 11-2 season as the Tigers surprised much of college football by finishing the season ranking in the top 10.

Three years ago Eli Drinkwitz led his team of Tigers up to Chesnut Hill to take on Boston College in the 4th week of the 2021 season. The defense had been shaky and BC loosened the bolts a bit further in an overtime win. That loss reset some expectations around Columbia. Mizzou would finish the season 6-7 after a Bowl game loss to Army, but the future had been set. Connor Bazelak would enter the transfer portal before the bowl game, Brady Cook — then a redshirt freshman — would take over the reigns and has yet to let them up.

Both programs are in different places than in 2021. Boston College was led by Jeff Hafley who took a job in the NFL this past offseason. BC hired Bill O’Brien, who had previously coached for the Houston Texans, and he has them at 2-0 after a big first week win over Florida State in Tallahassee.

For more detail on what this version of Boston College has in store for Missouri, you really should read Nate’s Preview published on Wednesday.
