Jaylon Carlies will take his talents to Indianapolis after being the sixth Tiger selected in the this year’s draft.
A Mizzou defensive back saw his name called in this year’s NFL Draft.
With the 151st overall pick in the 5th round of the NFL Draft, the Indianapolis Colts selected safety Jaylon Carlies.

Carlies joins Darius Robinson, Ennis Rakestraw Jr., Ty’Ron Hopper, Javon Foster and Kris Abrams-Draine, the last of whom went five picks before at 145th overall to the Denver Broncos.
Throughout his four years at Mizzou, Carlies tallied 220 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, nine interceptions and three sacks. He led last year’s squad in total tackles (64) and solo tackles (38).
Carlies was a crucial piece in Missouri’s 14-3 victory over Ohio State where the Tigers defense completely shutdown the Buckeyes. He recorded a team-high 11 tackles while also collecting a sack and tackle for loss.

At 6-foot-3, 227 pounds, Carlies will likely transition from safety to the linebacker position at the next level. He ran a 4.5 40-yard dash and is not afraid to come downhill and strike offensive players. Carlies will be joining a Colts defense that ranked 28th in scoring last season. He’ll hopefully help reshape the defense as he joined a Colts draft class that also includes edge defender Laiatu Latu and Jaylin Simpson.
Jaylon Carlies is a FS prospect in the 2024 draft class. He scored a 8.26 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 191 out of 1092 FS from 1987 to 2024. https://t.co/ZcVHhaEo6Z pic.twitter.com/HmhLDfQPSL
