The Morning Commute for April 28, 2025.
Welcome to the Morning Commute
Today we’re talking about Mizzou Tigers in the NFL. And no, not the ones we’ve already talked about.
Obviously many congratulations are due to Armand Membou, Luther Burden III and Marcus Bryant for being selected in the 2025 NFL Draft. It’s an enormous accomplishment, one they should all be incredibly proud of. But we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that there were a few other Tigers headed to NFL camps on undrafted free agent deals, as well as one with an invite to a mini camp.
As a reminder, UDFA deals link a player to a specific team until they’re cut from the roster. It’s rare to see UDFA’s become impact players, but hey, it’s not completely unheard of! Good luck to these five as they continue to chase their dreams beyond the draft!
Yesterday at Rock M and Rock M+
Everything seemed ripe for a Tiger win, as Lenger’s diving play in center got the first out of the seventh kept the vibes high, but that was erased by an Ellestad (can someone stop this girl, please?!) single up the middle off of new pitcher Taylor Pannell and a Duchscherer single through the left side, which put two on for Clark. She reached on a “rookie mistake” by Uptegrove, whose throwing error to first allowed Pate (PR for Ellestad) to score in walk-off fashion.
Woooooooooooooooof.
Mizzou will need to get its offense back on track in order to have a chance of securing at least one SEC win in the final nine games of conference play. If they can accomplish this, a somewhat stabilized pitching staff could give them a real shot to get that victory.
At least beat kU this week, guys. Please.
- Over at Rock M+, we’re talking about the slimmest of slim portal pickings for Mizzou Hoops. Some real sicko shit happening over there, don’t miss it.
