A grand slam by Mateo Serna in the sixth inning pushed Mizzou past in-state foe Missouri State on Tuesday night at Taylor.
That’s a grand slam!
Mateo Serna (@_mateoserna) smacks his second home run in as many games against Missouri State. The four-run shot give the Tigers a five-run advantage. The Bears are yet to record an out in the bottom of the sixth. #MIZ 7, MSU 2 | 6⃣#MizzouNOW | ⚾️ pic.twitter.com/Xm5U31W9Zg

That grand slam was part of a six-run sixth inning and put the Tigers up 9-2. The Bears would make a comeback attempt with a run in the eighth and three in the ninth, but it wasn’t enough, and the Tigers took their fourth consecutive series over Missouri State. (Read more at MUTigers.com)

Moving on to softball! New week, new polls. After taking Game 1 in Athens against no. 9 Georgia, the Tigers couldn’t grab a win in either game of the doubleheader on Saturday, All hope was not lost, though. Here are some positives from Game 3!
Some positives:
*Honnold was 2-4 with a double
*Hay was 2-3 with a HR, BB, RBI and a run scored
*Daly was 2-3 with a 2B, HR, RBI and a run scored
*Krings pitched 4 no-hit innings with a R and 4 K.— Karen S (@karensteger) April 20, 2024
We’re at the point in the season where any loss, even to a team ranked above them will result in a slight drop in this week’s polls.
