The Morning Commute for Tuesday, May 27
Welcome to the Morning Commute
Today we’re talking about Tamar Bates’ NBA Draft stock.
The NBA Playoffs are still going on, but with no former Mizzou players to keep track of — it’s time to start focusing on the NBA Draft where Tamar Bates could possibly hear his name called in late June.
After an impressive performance at the NBA Draft combine, Bates is rising up on the mock draft projections.
Former #Mizzou guard Tamar Bates has jumped to No. 20 on https://t.co/7zLNXn4iaX’s updated big board. He was ranked No. 36 in the May 16 version.

Bates could join Kobe Brown as the second Mizzou Basketball player drafted in the Dennis Gates era (and don’t count out Caleb Grill, either). And next year could be Mark Mitchell.
Here’s what Bates had to say after his pre-draft workout with the Warriors.

That’s not a bad recruiting pitch for Head Coach Dennis Gates.
