The Morning Commute for Tuesday, April 8
Welcome to the Morning Commute
Today we’re talking about Mizzou transfers.
With the college basketball season concluding last night in the National Championship Game, the transfer portal is officially heating up.
Dennis Gates and the Missouri Tigers were active on early Monday morning, landing UCLA guard Sebastian Mack.

Missouri now has two scholarship spots open, so let’s see what Dennis Gates and the staff have in store for the rest of this transfer portal period.
On the football side of things, Drew Pyne is transferring to Bowling Green after one season at Mizzou.
NEWS: Former Missouri quarterback Drew Pyne is transferring to Bowling Green, he told ESPN. Pyne started his career and Notre Dame (2020-22), transferred to Arizona State (2023) before playing at Missouri last year. Ironically, Pyne will succeed former Mizzou quarterback Connor Bazelak at Bowling Green. Somehow, Pyne still has two years of eligibility remaining. But that’s the transfer portal these days.

“With NCAA March Madness looking to close out on Monday night, we’ve still got plenty of Mizzou action to look forward to in April. Not the least of which is Missouri Gymnastics, which is heading to its fourth Elite Eight in program history.”

#Mizzou picked up a critical pledge from Sebastian Mack early Monday morning.

“If nothing else, Mack projects as a starter-level combo guard with two years of experience, and he arrives from a Bruins program that finished one spot behind MU in KenPom. His frame and output also closely mirror what Tony Perkins supplied last season.”
UCLA transfer Sebastian Mack is an intriguing addition for Mizzou.
“At this point we feel like Missouri is mainly looking for a wing/combo guard who can space the floor, and a starting level big.”
Look for Mizzou to complete their roster at these positions with two scholarship spots left.
