The Morning Commute for Wednesday, June 18
Welcome to the Morning Commute
Today we’re talking about Mizzou Hoops’ non-con schedule.
Mizzou Basketball’s non-conference schedule is coming together. We previously knew that the Tigers will open the regular season on November 3rd with an interesting road game at MEAC opponent Howard. More games are starting to trickle through in addition to Border War (December 7th), Braggin’ Rights (TBD) and the SEC/ACC Challenge at Notre Dame (December 3rd).
Calum McAndrew of the Columbia Missourian reported on Monday evening that Mizzou’s home opener is set for November 7th vs in-state opponent SEMO.

Meanwhile, Minnesota will make their return trip to Columbia on November 12th after the Tigers beat the Gophers on the road two seasons ago. VMI (November 9th) and Bethune-Cookman (December 14th) are also reported on the schedule.
The non-con schedule should be completed somewhat soon, but for more conversation and updates on it, visit RockM+.

“Former Mizzou pitcher and Blair Oaks product Wil Libbert is transferring to Ole Miss, he announced on Twitter (X).”
Mizzou Baseball’s roster is in need of an overhaul, but in-state product Libbert was one you would have liked to keep.
“As for their matchup with Missouri? Well…it’s a new coaching staff that has never worked together, coaching a team that has experienced 44 transfer losses in two years that’s starting a new quarterback, completely new running back stable, new offensive line, new defense…basically no consistency from the team that got wiped Missouri last year. Eli Drinkwitz’s boys should mop the floor with these fools.”
Yeah, Mizzou should destroy UMass.
“Interestingly, the staff always seems to start with the latter skill set in hopes of developing the former. It’s a formula that hasn’t worked out perfectly thus far, but Jensen’s commitment shows the staff is hellbent on making it work.”
Jensen could become an important piece to Mizzou’s tight end room in the future.
The first significant piece of last season’s offense for #Mizzou Baseball entered the portal today in rising sophomore Brady Picarelli. Here is our updated transfer tracker over at @RockMNation covering the offseason changes for the Tigers:https://t.co/lSkawA43fU

“Picarelli is the first significant piece of last season’s Mizzou offense to transfer out. The Eureka native flashed plenty of potential as a true freshman, mashing against nonconference opponents and looking like a future lineup mainstay.
Instead, Picarelli decided to take his power and potential elsewhere – and like Wil Libbert (see below), there will be plenty of high-major suitors knocking on his door.
Big loss for Mizzou Baseball as in-state product Brady Picarelli hits the transfer portal.
