Welcome to the Morning Commute
Today we’re talking about Mizzou Baseball portal updates.
On Sunday, Mizzou Baseball saw a transfer portal loss to an SEC team but gained a transfer portal addition from another SEC program.
Former Mizzou pitcher and Blair Oaks product Wil Libbert is transferring to Ole Miss, he announced on Twitter (X).

From Matthew Gustafson’s baseball transfer tracker; losing Wil Libbert is a big deal.
“Libbert’s departure will easily have the biggest impact on next year’s squad, and his entry into the portal is a major setback for the team’s long-term pitching development. The Blair Oaks graduate was the Tigers’ top starter in 2025, showing notable growth over the season and locking in a weekend rotation spot for next year.”
Losing Libbert to an SEC team hurts even more.
“Instead, the Cape Cod Baseball League-bound starter will move to another SEC school in Ole Miss – a second gut punch for the Tigers, who will now face the pitcher that was likely their future ace.”
Though, Mizzou landed Texas A&M transfer utility player Jamal George.

“George is unlikely to start for the Tigers, but the senior has solid numbers in college with the potential for a second-season jump in the SEC. This addition gives Jackson another experienced position player and valuable depth.”
Elsewhere, Mizzou Wrestling has announced the addition of Northwestern transfer Evan Bates.

Plus, it was a banner year for Missouri’s non-revenue sports — marking the first time in school history that Mizzou had three individual National Championships in the same calendar year.

“What we do know for sure is that Tre Gomillion, coach and recent player for the program, was the ultimate hero. He scored a clutch tip in just as time expired to give Team Carroll the dub.”
Team Carroll came away with the victory on Saturday at Mizzou Arena.
“For this week’s Reacts, we just want to know: How would you spend the money Mizzou has available because of the settlement? Would you attract and keep top talent? Would you spread it around the roster? Would you invest in Olympic sports? Let us know!”
Vote on how Mizzou should spend their House Settlement money.
