The Iowa forward brings size and defensive prowess to the Tigers
Missouri head coach Kellie Harper continues her tear on the recruiting trail, as Ellie Muller committed to Mizzou WBB on the morning of July 10. Muller is the second member of the Tigers’ 2026 recruiting class, joining Cecilie Brandimore. Here’s what Muller can bring to this Mizzou team:

Muller is a 6-foot-3 forward from West Des Moines, Iowa. She plays for Dowling Catholic High School (Caitlin Clark’s alma mater), helping lead her team all the way to the 5A state final during both her sophomore and junior seasons. She had quite the postseason to remember as a junior, with a pair of double-doubles while earning a spot on the all-tournament team. Muller is a two-time All-State selection, including a first team selection last season. She is considered by Prep Hoops Iowa as the No. 5 prospect in the state.
Muller’s prowess lies in her defensive abilities, averaging 12.0 rebounds and 4.0 combined stocks (steals + blocks). Her ability to disrupt shots and general offensive flow around the rim is impressive, forcing opponents to adjust to her style. Entering her senior season, Muller is already the all-time school leader in both defensive rebounds and blocks.
After a February matchup against Waukee Northwest, Dowling head coach Kristin Meyer spoke with the Des Moines Register about Muller. “Her shot-blocking and shot-altering presence in the lane allows us to crash and pressure the ball,” Meyer said. “But offensively … she’s got some really good finesse on the ball. She’s found a way to be a multiple-level scorer. “She just keeps expanding her game and I’m so excited … to see what she will be able to grow into as an offensive player.”

Offensively, she is a tough guard, averaging 17.0 points on 62% true shooting as a nearly unstoppable weapon inside the paint. But Muller can stretch the defensive with a 33% 3-point shot that will no doubt improve.
The Iowa forward had a list of Power 4 school offers including Iowa, Iowa State, Creighton, Minnesota and kU. Muller was originally offered by Harper & Co. back on May 27.
Ellie has a younger sister and basketball teammate Katie, part of the class of 2027. The duo took a visit to Columbia in early July, making her a possible target in next year’s class, potentially joining her sister in black-and-gold.

It’s good to see Harper focusing on the Midwest in addition to the East Coast on the recruiting trail, as Muller is only a four-hour drive away from campus. The emphasis for the class of 2026 is clearly size, as Muller and Brandimore both have SEC size to help a team that has sorely needed it.
There are still four openings left on the 2026-27 roster, so I would expect to see at least one more recruit in this year’s class; likely a point guard.
