An impressive opening weekend with some quality victories gives the SEC six ranked teams in this week’s AP Top 25 poll
Week 1 of the 2021 College Football season is officially in the books, and we saw an action packed Labor Day weekend. A total of eight teams ranked in the preseason Top 25 lost, including three of them losing to unranked teams.
The Big Ten East imposed their will over the Big Ten West, winning three out of the four cross divisional match ups on opening weekend. The SEC also had a successful weekend, as the league finished with a 12-2 overall record. Alabama (over Miami), Georgia (over Clemson), and Ole Miss (over Louisville) delivered some of the key wins for the conference.
A total of six SEC teams are ranked in this week’s AP Top 25, with Alabama and Georgia coming in at No. 1 – No. 2.
This is the second time in the last three seasons and the third in the last five that the SEC is sitting 1-2 in the AP Top 25. https://t.co/ihbr3VpIGQ
