CINCINNATI (AP) —The St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Cincinnati Reds 7-5. Masyn Winn drove in three runs, while Iván Herrera and Pedro Pagés each homered.
The game was tied at 5 in the 10th inning when a throwing error by Elly De La Cruz allowed the Cardinals to take the lead. It was De La Cruz’s 22nd error, the most in baseball.
Matt Svanson got the win and Ryan Fernandez earned his first save. De La Cruz doubled, tripled, and scored twice for the Reds, who have now lost four in a row. Spencer Steer, Noelvi Marte and Ke’Bryan Hayes homered for Cincinnati.
