The St. Louis Cardinals could provide a pillow contract for Framber Valdez or Zac Gallen, but they would lose the 50th overall pick in the 2026 MLB Draft doing so. Jeff Jones did mention Valdez as a possibility earlier this offseason, so it could happen.
