There are still seven weeks, but I know you all have opinions already.

The trade deadline is seven weeks away and a lot could happen in that time, but after a strong May, it seems apt to gauge everyone’s opinion on what the team should do. The St. Louis Cardinals face a crucial decision that could shape the remainder of their season—and their future. For simplicity, I have identified four potential strategies:
Buy Aggressively – If the front office wants to push for a playoff run, now is the time to acquire impact players. Bolstering the rotation or adding a power bat could give the team the edge it needs to make a postseason push.
Sell Expiring Contracts – On the flip side, moving players like Ryan Helsley for future assets would signal a shift toward long-term stability. This approach ensures the team gets value instead of losing key pieces for nothing in free agency.
Stand Pat – Sometimes, the best move is no move at all. Keeping the current roster intact and trusting the players to find their rhythm could be the safest bet [dodges tomato].
Make Strategic Trades – A balanced approach would involve moving short-term players for controllable talent, ensuring the Cardinals remain competitive now while building for the future. Targeting young, high-upside players could pay dividends in the seasons ahead.
What do you think? Should the Cardinals go all-in, focus on the future, or strike a careful balance?
