ST. LOUIS – Oli Marmol will return for his fifth season as St. Louis Cardinals manager in the 2026 season, even as the organization undergoes a significant front office change.
Marmol owns a 325-323 record over four full seasons as the Cardinals manager and is coming off a 78-84 finish in 2025, the team’s third straight year missing postseason.
Chaim Bloom, the new President of Baseball Operations for the St. Louis Cardinals, confirmed Marmol’s status during his introductory news conference Tuesday and also outlined his visions for the coaching staff in 2026.
“As far as our field staff, there’s still some things we need to sort out with every single person on the staff,” said Bloom. “I expect a lot of continuity. It’s a good group of people that care.”
Marmol was also present in the audience at Busch Stadium for Bloom’s news conference.
Marmol will enter 2026 on the final year of a two-year contract extension he signed that began after the 2024 season, following his initial three-year contract when hired ahead of the 2022 campaign.
