Game Day Preview: 4/18 Cardinals vs Mets

Hopefully the Cardinals can win this one

The Cardinals look to even up the series with hopefully a bounce back from the offense, sadly missing from yesterday’s game. Miles Mikolas looks to build off his previous start, where he looked capable of striking out hitters. The Cardinals face off against lefty starter David Peterson, who will get some ground balls if things are clicking.

Today’s Matchup – first pitch at 6:10 PM CT

Miles Mikolas (5.35 ERA/4.24 FIP/4.08 xFIP)

vs.

David Peterson (2.90 ERA/3.67 FIP/4.10 xFIP)

Players to Watch

STL – Miles Mikolas – I hate to keep being lazy but the starting pitcher is typically the most important player of a game! If he’s doing well, the team usually does well. If he’s doing poorly, the team usually isn’t going to win. Let’s hope he’s good.

NYM: Juan Soto – Much like in the Astros series, we are running into a teams best hitter in a bit of a slump. And like Yordan Alvarez, it’s only a matter of time until he busts out of the slump. We one against have to hope that Soto waits a few games to start crushing pitches again.
