The Cardinals beat the Rockies on Monday night, 3-2 at Busch Stadium. Here is the Fox 2 post game report.
Brendan Donovan’s pinch hit double in the bottom of the 8th inning was the winning hit in the Cardinals 3-2 win over the Colorado Rockies. Miles Mikolas pitched well taking a no-hitter into the 6th inning, before his defense let him down in the 7th allowing the Rockies to score two runs and take the lead.
Alec Burleson drove in the game’s first run with an RBI single in the 3rd inning. Thomas Saggese chipped in three hits in the victory. Kyle Leahy, who came on for Mikolas in the 7th inning, picked up the win in relief throwing two and a third innings of scoreless relief.
The win brings the Cardinals to within three game of the final wild card spot in the National League.
