ST. LOUIS – The Cardinals are selling $6 tickets Wednesday for 12 hours beginning at 9 a.m.
The specially-priced tickets are available for any Monday through Thursday game. They also are pre-loaded with $6 in Cards Cash for fans to use on any Busch Stadium concessions or merchandise.
Fans can purchase up to eight of the special $6 tickets per person, per game. Games available at this price point include matchups with the Cubs, Dodgers, Mets, Padres, Blue Jays, Royals, and more.
Joe Strohm, the vice president of ticket sales for the Cardinals, said the sale is family-focused.
“What we find, is it’s basically families that are purchasing, and they stay throughout the entire game,” Strohm said. “They may come to three or four games throughout the year. So, it’s fun to see the families and the kids in the ballpark.”
Strohm said 39 home games will be available this season.
“At the end of the day, we don’t want the price of the ticket to be a barrier in coming to the ballpark,” said Strohm. “This is another way to put a fan-friendly value out there.”
Baseball fan Traci Tabor of O’Fallon, Missouri, appreciates the chance to see more games.
“Being that they are doing the sales like that, I mean, it makes it easier for us to come down more often and spend more money down in the city,” Tabor said.
Strome said Cardinal fans are eager for the season to start, even though there’s a delay.
“This will be the first time in three years it’s going to feel normal on Opening Day, and it’s going to feel normal for all 81 games,” he said.
Tickets are available at cardinals.com or they can be purchased by calling 314-345-9000.
