ST. LOUIS – Next year, St. Louis Blues broadcasts will look a little different, not just because of the team’s uniforms, but also because of a missing voice who helped define the sound of Blues hockey for decades.
John Kelly is no longer the TV play-by-play voice of the Blues as the team moves to a simulcast model next year. Sources tell FOX 2’s Martin Kilcoyne that John Kelly was blindsided and didn’t see this change coming.
Times are different, but the Blues just rolled out a new uniform with talk of tradition and nostalgia. The Kelly name is synonymous with Blues history. While the Blues do a lot of things right, this move simply felt wrong.
