The Blues’ offseason wrap-up wipes out last season’s jitters

NHL: SEP 27 Preseason - Stars at Blues

It’s time for a fresh start.

The Blues must rebound after last season’s first-round sweep.

The St. Louis Blues had an eventful offseason full of ups and downs, and decided to close it out with a bonding trip to Vail, Colorado. Vail, a home rule municipality in Eagle County, Colorado, has a population of just 4,835 residents, but it’s a ski lover’s paradise. It’s home to Vail Ski Resort, the largest ski resort in Colorado, along with the Vail Film Festival, Vail Resorts Snow Days, Bravo! Vail, and Burton US Open.

I’ve never been to Vail and Colorado in general, but both are on my bucket list. I’m a non-skier, but I’d like to hone my ice skating skills. As a foodie, I’d like to try the different types of cuisine to expand my palate and enjoy new foods — like really new foods such as lobster gyoza and double chocolate bread pudding. Who’s with me?

I’m sure the Blues had a great time in Vail. The purpose of the trip was for the players to practice and enjoy golfing and fishing. They likely started golfing after the last postseason, but it’s always fun and improves both physical fitness and mental strength.

Blues forward James Neal, who recently signed a one-year, $750,000 deal, told NHL.com’s Chris Pinkert: “It’s a good way to get the guys together and start the season off on the right foot … I’m looking forward to it.”

Vail, it was fun.

But now it’s time to get down to business. #stlblues pic.twitter.com/3CKnP7rlpV
