March 27, 2025 by Last Word On Hockey

Welcome to NHL Predictions! It is a special day in the sports world as the 2025 Major League Baseball season begins today. Make sure to check in with Last Word On Baseball throughout the MLB season! Meanwhile, in the hockey world, we have ten games on the calendar today. Our prediction looks at the game between the St. Louis Blues and the Nashville Predators.

Head-to-Head: Blues Lead 3-0

The Blues and Preds meet for the fourth and final time this season. The Blues have won the first three of the series and will look for their first sweep of the Predators since the 2013-14 season.

Blues Seeking Eighth in a Row

The Blues have been playing great hockey as of late. Their win last Thursday placed them in a playoff spot where they remain heading into action Thursday. Furthermore, the Blue Note are in the middle of a seven-game winning streak.

The Blues lead the Calgary Flames by four points for the final playoff spot. The Flames are also in action on Thursday against the Dallas Stars. This makes Thursday very important. A win and a regulation loss by the Flames gives the Blues a six point lead. On the other hand, a Flames win and a Blues regulation loss cuts their lead to just two points. While scoreboard watching is to be expected this time of year, the Blues need to worry about their business and take care of the Preds.

Preds Have 11 Games Left in Lost Season

The city of “Smashville” has had little to cheer about this season. There are only 11 games left in the season for the Predators, who are simply trying to finish the season strong and look to regroup over the summer. One thing that can give Predator fans some comfort is playing spoiler against a divisional opponent. The Blues may have the Predators number at the moment, but all it takes is one game to possibly derail a team’s playoff hopes.

The Predators enter their final 11 games with some players looking to hit certain scoring marks. Filip Forsberg is two goals away from 30 and four points away from 70 points. He has been a bright spot for the team. Should Forsberg get red hot to end the season, he could have a chance at 80 points. A little over a point a game would get him there. In addition to Forsberg, Jonathan Marchessault is one point shy of 50 for the season, while Steven Stamkos is eight goals away from 30. Like Forsberg, Stamkos will need to get red hot to reach that mark.

Prediction

For last Tuesday’s game, we got bold and predicted the Blues to score 10 goals against the Predators. We may have bitten off a little more than we can chew as we ended up six goals short of that mark.

For our prediction, we are going to keep it simple. We are going to keep picking the Blues until the evidence suggests otherwise.

Blues hit a grand slam in honour of the St. Louis Cardinals and win, 4-1.

Prop Bets

The over/under is set at 5.5 goals. We are taking just under that with five goals.

For prop bets, we have a few to suggest taking. For anytime-scorers, take Jordan Kyrou for the Blues. After a two-goal game last Tuesday, Kyrou added his 30th of the season against the Predators on Sunday. Kyrou is playing really well against the Predators. That makes his prop bet one worth taking. For the Predators, we are taking Forsberg.

However, we are not done yet. The Blues last two games have seen at least one player receive a ten-minute misconduct. We think that trend continues. Who will receive it? It is hard to say, but Nathan Walker is always a candidate. Zachary Bolduc is another candidate. You may also want to place a bet on the amount of hits Bolduc receives as a result of his cross-check on Sunday.
