NHL Predictions

Washington Capitals vs Chicago Blackhawks

Head-to-Head: Capitals 0-1 Blackhawks

How to Watch:

US TV: Chicago Sports Network; Monumental Sports Network 2; NHL Network

Canada TV: SNP; TVA Sports

Time: 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)

We open up NHL predictions with our featured game between the Washington Capitals and the Chicago Blackhawks. Washington is expected to give Logan Thompson the start in goal for this game. However, always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy stater. The Capitals are 3-5-2 in their last 10 games, including a loss to the Dallas Stars on Wednesday night. Justin Sourdiff has been red-hot as of late with nine points in the team’s previous 10 games.

Spencer Knight is the probable starter for the Blackhawks in this matchup. Chicago is 5-4-1 in its previous 10 games but has racked up four consecutive victories entering this game. The winning streak is all the more impressive considering that leading point-getter Connor Bedard has been out of the lineup. However, the club may be getting their talisman back sooner rather than later. Tyler Bertuzzi has stepped up and leads the Blackhawks in goals with 22.

Chicago has become a solid team despite the loss of its leader. However, Washington will pick up the victory.

Prediction: Capitals win 4-3.

Los Angeles Kings vs Winnipeg Jets

Head-to-Head: Kings 1-1 Jets

How to Watch:

US TV: Fan Duel Sports West; ESPN+

Canada TV: TSN3

Time: 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)

Our second and final game of NHL predictions has the Los Angeles Kings trying to prolong the misery of the Winnipeg Jets. Darcy Kuemper is the expected starter for the Kings, who are 4-5-1 in their last 10 games. Los Angeles is coming off a 4-3 overtime loss to the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday night. Adrian Kempe leads the team in assists (19) and points (34) for the Kings.

Eric Comrie is the projected starter for the Jets, who have lost 11 consecutive games. Winnipeg has gone from last season’s President’s Trophy winners to the worst team in the league. Everything that has gone wrong is going wrong for the Jets. Winnipeg is having trouble scoring goals but does have talented scorers like Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele.

Both clubs are coming off a loss. However, Los Angeles gets the victory and extends Winnipeg’s losing streak.

Prediction: Kings win 4-2.

Prop Bets of the Night

We close out NHL predictions with some prop bets of the night. Let’s go back to our featured game for our prop bets of the night. The over/under for the Capitals versus the Blackhawks is 5.5, and we like the over in this game.

As for individual props, take Tom Wilson to score an any time goal for Washington. On the Chicago side of things, take Bertuzzi to get a power-play point.
